Pocari Sweat Hash Brown Sort of Day

Woke up feeling a little worse for wear this morning after last night’s antics—but definitely worth it. I headed out mid-morning in search of a hash brown and a bottle of Pocari Sweat. This is a personal favourite combo that tends to do the trick when you’re feeling a bit sorry for yourself after one too many 9% Strongs (those are the flavoured vodka soda drinks sold in every convenience store in Japan—a favourite among both locals and gaijin alike).
It started raining mid-afternoon, so I popped back to the car to grab a coat before going for a stroll past Namba Station to the Taito arcade just up the road. I stayed for about an hour, by which time it was dark and the rain on the road was reflecting all the neon signs—always feels like being in a video game when it rains in a Japanese city.
I grabbed a pizza on the way back to the hotel and called a couple of friends and family before having an early night.
I’m leaving the hotel tomorrow, so I think I’ll head over to Kobe for the day—there’s a farm I’ve been eyeing up that I’d quite like to visit.
