Race Day

Left for the circuit a bit later than planned this morning—fancied a bit of a lie-in—but still made it for around 10 and secured a good seat with a view of both the track and the screen. The track was much busier today being race day, and the seating around 130R was especially packed. The race was good, though not a lot of overtaking, with Verstappen giving a masterclass from the front.

I left the circuit in the late afternoon and headed back to the car, which I tidied up a bit. I was feeling a bit lonely after the race—I think because this was the last thing I really had planned for the next two months, and now I can’t quite make up my mind where to go or what to do next. I guess it’s a nice problem to have, but I can’t help thinking it’d be more fun to be with friends. All part of the solo travelling experience, I suppose!

Anyway, I’m meeting a friend tomorrow for coffee—he works as a photographer for the Haas F1 Team, which I’m really looking forward to. After that, I think I’ll make my way to Osaka, since the Global Expo is on there at the moment. No idea what actually goes on at those sorts of events, but it seems like exactly the kind of place I should be checking out. From what I’ve heard, they usually include some tech bits, so I’m bound to enjoy it.

Currently sat in the same Onsen as the other night, about to go grab a late-night ramen because I’m starving—also hoping the post-race traffic has died down by now.

Thanks for reading.
