To The North

I set off in a similar way to how I’d arrived in Osaka the day before, this time aiming for the north-west side of Lake Biwa rather than the eastern side, where I’d been previously. I powered through the first few hours without stopping, but having not showered after the night out, I figured it was probably a good idea to find somewhere to freshen up before settling in for the night.
I found a very local onsen next to a campsite and stayed for around an hour before deciding to get back on the road, thinking it might be a good idea to try and make it to the north coast of Japan that same day.
On the way further north, I stopped off for a restorative bowl of ramen and a Coke for me, and a tank of petrol for the car, before pressing on into the night. Once I reached the coast, I headed east for a while, keeping an eye out for a suitable car park to camp in. I checked Google and found one with a nice beach in front of it and what I assumed would be a pristine sea view.
I’ll be heading further along the north coast of Japan tomorrow – I’ve heard good things about the road, so I’ll be sure to get some decent time-lapses.
